Southold Takes Meetings on the Road

Hamlet-based meetings give residents an opportunity to talk to the board without traveling too far from home.

Council people will travel. 

The Southold Town Board is taking its meeting to each hamlet for community-based meetings to hear concerns and answer questions closer to home for residents around the Town of Southold. 

"This open-end discussion format will provide individuals an opportunity to informally speak with the Town Board about any topic they wish," according to the meeting description posted on the town website.  

A meeting was already held for Mattituck and Laurel residents on June 13. Here are the rest of the meeting dates:

  • Cutchogue & New Suffolk residents: June 25, 6 p.m. at Cutchogue-New Suffolk Free Library
  • East Marion & Orient residents: June 29, 10 a.m. at Poquatuck Hall
  • Greenport Village & Greenport hamlet residents: July 9, 6 p.m. at the Floyd Memorial Library
  • Southold & Peconic residents: July 25, 6 p.m. at Southold Free Library
  • Fishers Island residents: August 7, 1:30 p.m. at Fishers Island School
