Police: Woman Uninjured After Car Slides Off Icy Road Into Creek

The woman was able to exit her vehicle and call for help, police said.

Frigid cold temperatures and an icy road caused a woman to drive her car into a creek on Sunday, police said.

According to Southold Town police, the Westhampton woman, 24, lost control of her 2009 Honda on Sunday at 8:25 a.m. on the icy road and plunged into Broadwaters Creek at Nassau Point.

The vehicle overturned and was partially submerged, police said. She was able to exit her vehicle and go to a residence to call for help; police said. The woman was uninjured.
