Bellone Appointee 1 of 2 Charged With DWI

Southold Town Police charge two men with driving while intoxicated, stopping one for reportedly driving too closely behind the other.

August F. Ruckdeschel, 33, of Ronkonkoma, and Gregory J. Cimino, 24, of Farmingville, were each charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated on June 2 at 7:01 p.m., after police stopped Ruckdeschel for a traffic violation on Cox Lane in Cutchogue, police said.

Ruckdeschel was appointed in April by the administration of Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone to a job as a farmlands administrator in the economic development and planning department, according to a Newsday article.

Cimino was stopped for following Ruckdeschel too closely, police said. Both drivers were found to be intoxicated, were arrested and transported to police headquarters in Peconic where they were held for arraignment.
