Police: Traffic Stops Reveal Drug Possession, Active Warrant

Southold Town Police report an incident of drug possession and find an active warrant after traffic stop.

The following information was supplied by the Southold Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

• Anthony Secaida, 19, of Cutchogue, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license on Feb. 3 at 7:11 p.m. after police stopped him for a traffic violation at the intersection of Route 48 and Ackerly Pond Lane in Southold, police said. A computer check revealed that Secaida’s license was suspended, and investigation revealed that he was in possession of five zip lock bags of marijuana, police said. Secaida was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was released on bail.

• Brian Shelby, 45, of Southold, was stopped for driving with a suspended registration on Feb. 5 at 11:26 p.m. on Front Street in Greenport and was found to have an active warrant for prior vehicle and traffic violations, police said. Shelby was arrested, processed at police headquarters in Peconic and turned over to the Suffolk County Fugitive Squad.
