Police: Three North Fork Men Charged With DWI Over Weekend

Southold Town Police charge two Greenport men and one Cutchogue man with DWI over Thanksgiving weekend.

Erwin Gruber, 39, of Cutchogue was charged with driving while intoxicated on Nov. 26 at 4:12 a.m., after police stopped him for speeding in a 2003 Porsche west on Route 48 in Peconic, police said. Gruber failed several roadside sobriety tests, was found to be intoxicated and was transported to police headquarters where he was held overnight pending arraignment.

Victor Dubon-Garcia, 24, of Greenport, and Efrain Garcia, 26, of Greenport, were each charged with DWI and felony aggravated unlicensed operation after being involved in a car accident on Nov. 25 at 12:01 a.m. at the corner of Main Bayview Road and Route 25 in Southold, police said. Dubon-Garcia was driving a 1995 Honda north on Main Bayview and slowing down to a stop at the intersection when Garcia rear-ended Dubon-Garcia's vehicle with a 1997 Honda, police said. Both men were found to be intoxicated and driving without licenses, and Garcia's driving privilege had been suspended for a previous DWI charge, police said.
