Police: Three More Drug Busts Executed Across the North Fork

Two North Fork residents and one incarcerated man formerly of Greenport were arrested and charged with several drug-related offenses within the past eight days by members of the Suffolk County District Attorney's East End Drug Task Force, Southold Town Police reported.

The arrests are the latest in a recent spree by members of the task force, who arrested seven people in June and five people in March on drug-related charges. Police say these latest arrests bring a close to many investigations involving the sales and distribution of drugs in Southold and Eastern Suffolk County.

The following suspects were charged with the following offences:

  • Anthony Ellis, 24, of Mattituck was arrested on June 21 at 8:26 a.m. near his home on Sigsbee Road and was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (a class-b felony) and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said. Ellis is alleged to have sold prescription drugs and was also found to be in possession of the prescription drug Xanax, police said. On June 29, Ellis surrendered to the Riverhead Police Department for an additional charge of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, police said.
  • Fredrick Douglas Grace, 22, of Greenport was arrested on June 28 on Third Street in Greenport and was charged with one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, police said. Officers seized a large sum of money from Grace at the time of his arrest, police said.
  • Sonny Brown, Jr., of Patchogue and formerly of Greenport, was ordered out of Suffolk County Correctional Facility in Riverhead on June 29 and was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, police said. Brown is also believed to be involved in the distribution of heroin throughout Eastern Long Island, police said. He was in the custody of the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department for charges unrelated to this case and remains in custody, police said.
