Police: Teen Drowns in Cutchogue Swimming Pool

Southold Town Police are investigating the apparent drowning of a teen off of Little Neck Road.

Walter Jose Gomez, 18, of Cutchogue, was pronounced dead at on July 11 after he was found floating in a swimming pool at 3:38 p.m. in an apparent drowning at a Cutchogue residence where he had been working with his father, Arnaldo Gomez, reported. Police and rescue workers responded to the scene, where Walter was removed from the pool and CPR was performed. Walter was transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Southold Police Department detectives are continuing their investigation.
