Police: Southold Man Hospitalized After Cutchogue Car Crash

Southold Town Police report injuries resulting from a single-car accident on Route 48.

Kyle VanDuzer, 27, of Southold, was hospitalized during the early morning hours of Oct. 12 after suffering injuries from a car crash at about 1:25 a.m. on Route 48 near Bridge Lane in Cutchogue, Southold Town Police said. VanDuzer was the only occupant of the vehicle and was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. VanDuzer's vehicle was eastbound on Route 48 when it veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole on the south side of the highway. Prior to this incident, it appears that VanDuzer's vehicle left the roadway in the area of Depot Lane and brushed a guardrail. As a result of the accident, power was out in the area for several hours.
