Police: Sick Boater Rescued on Long Island Sound

Southold Town Police respond to report of sick boater from Roslyn on the Sound.

Douglas Hyer, 69, of Roslyn, was treated by members of the on July 28 at 4:58 p.m., after police responded to a call of a sick man on a boat in the Long Island Sound near the Mattituck Inlet, police said. After fire department rescue squad members transported Hyer to the Mattituck Inlet boat ramp, he was taken to in Riverhead for treatment
