Police Search For Missing Peconic Teen

Southold Town police said a search of the Peconic Bay area is being conducted.

Police are searching for a 16-year-old girl who went missing in Peconic Monday morning.

According to Southold Town Police Chief Martin Flatley, officers are conducting a missing persons' search for a 16-year-old Peconic resident.

The call came in at approximately 10:45 a.m. Monday, Flatley said. Currently, searches are being conducted near the area where the teen resides, he added, including a flyover seach of the Peconic Bay.

"We're hoping we or family members can make contact with her so we know she's accounted for," Flatley said.

Police declined to identify the teen by name or with a photo.

Patch will have further details as they become available.
