Police Report: Teen Drivers Suffer Injuries in Two Separate Car Accidents

Southold Town Police report two car accidents resulting in injuries to two 19-year-old drivers.

Mario Osorio, 19, of Greenport suffered injuries on Sunday at 7:36 p.m., after he was thrown from his 1996 Fork pickup truck as it overturned several times off of Route 48 near Kenneys Road in Southold and stuck a utility pole, reported. Members of the responded to the scene and transported Osorio tofor treatment. Osorio was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and a seatbelt violation.

A 53-year-old Peconic man reported to police on March 1 that someone stole about $14,400 worth of items from his Wells Road home sometime between Feb. 22 and March 1, while he was on vacation in Florida, police said. The man reported that several pieces of jewelry, watches and a TV were among the stolen goods.

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were charged with the above offenses. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
