Police Report: Greenport Man Charged with BWI

A Greenport man hit the Greenport Breakwater early Saturday morning.

Herbert D. Israel, 23, of Greenport was charged with boating while intoxicated early Saturday morning after police said the vessel he was operating struck the Greenport breakwater. Police said Israel was transported to in Greenport by the Greenport Fire Department Rescue Squad, was treated and released into the custody of Southold Town Police. Israel was to be arraigned on Saturday.

Police said there were three other males onboard the boat when it hit the breakwater and all three were uninjured.
