Police Report: DWI, Burglary

Southold Town Police report an incident of driving while intoxicated and two reports of burglary.

Graeme Baker, 20, of Orient was charged with driving while intoxicated on Saturday at 1:17 a.m. after police observed him swerving out of his lane while he drove a 2004 Toyota west on Front Street in Greenport, police said. Baker failed several roadside sobriety tests and was found to be intoxicated, police said.

A 68-year-old Cutchogue man reported to police on Saturday at 1:07 p.m. that someone stole $2,267 worth of silver dollar coins from his residence sometime in early May from his Beebe Drive residence, police said. The man told police that he found that the back door of his home was unlocked when he returned, but he believed it was locked when he'd left, police said. The incident remains under investigation.

A 55-year-old Mattituck man reported to police on Sunday at 7:16 p.m. that someone stole his $500 canoe from his New Suffolk Avenue residence sometime between 3 and 7:16 p.m. on Sunday, police said. The man told police he had just brought the canoe to the front of his lawn in preparation to sell it, but it did not have any type of for-sale signs on it at the time of the incident.
