Police Report: DWI After Car Accident, MVA, Larceny

Southold Town Police report two motor vehicle accidents — one resulting in DWI — and incidents of larceny.

Jennifer Bolier, 33, of Port Jefferson was charged with driving while intoxicated on Tuesday at 9:45 p.m. after she hit a utility pole while driving west on Route 25 in Mattituck, police said. Bolier was not injured; she was found to be intoxicated after investigation, police said.

Two drivers were sent to for treatment for injuries on July 20 after colliding at 4:49 p.m. on Route 48 in Southold, police said. Harold Schwerdt, 91, of Southold was attempting a left-hand turn onto Cox Lane off of Route 48 while sitting at a red left-hand turn signal and was struck by a vehicle driven by Bonifacio Garcia, 23, of East Quogue, who was heading west on Route 48 through a green light, police said.

The owner of on Front Street in Greenport reported on July 20 at 6:30 p.m. that Donald Beckley, 57, of Greenport had shoplifted beer and cigarettes from the store earlier that day, police said. The next day, Beckley was charged with menacing, harassment, attempted grand larceny, and resisting arrest for in Greenport and attempting to grab an officer's gun out of his holster, police reported.

An 84-year-old Astoria resident reported to police that a wallet containing $11,000 in cash had gone missing from his Greenport residence this past Saturday, police said. The man told police that he left the wallet in the pocket of a pair of shorts, left the residence for a short time period and when he returned, the wallet and the money were gone, police said. The incident remains under investigation.
