Police Report: Crack and Heroin Possession, DWI

Southold Town Police reported one incident of drug possession and two incidents of driving while intoxicated.

Clint Marczewski, 35, of Greenport was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Saturday at 5:47 p.m. after police stopped him for a traffic violation as he drove on Route 25 in Greenport. Investigating officers on the scene reported finding a white powder / rock-like substance in Marczewski's vehicle. While police examined the substance, Marczewski reached out of the driver's window and hit the substance out of the officer's hand in an attempt to destroy the evidence, police said. The substance tested positive as crack cocaine, and an envelope containing heroin was found in Marczewski's jacket, police said.

Lawrence Conner, 18, of Laurel was charged with driving while under the influence of drugs, several traffic violations and possession of a fake ID on Sunday at 3:55 a.m. after police stopped him for swerving as he drove a 1998 Ford van west on Route 48 in Mattituck. Investigation revealed that Conner was impaired by drugs, police said. During processing at headquarters, police also found Connor to be in possession of a replicated California State driver's license.

Cesar Huertas, 45, was charged with driving while intoxicated, unlicensed operation of a vehicle and failing to maintain his lane on Sunday at 1:08 a.m. after police stopped him as he drove on Sixth Street in Greenport. Huertas failed several sobriety tests and was found to be intoxicated, police said.

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were charged with the above offenses. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
