Police: New Suffolk Man Charged With Marijuana Possession in Mattituck

Jared Martin, 21, of New Suffolk was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Thursday at 9:52 a.m. after Southold Town Police stopped him on Elijahs Lane in Mattituck for driving a 1989 GMC suburban with a suspended license, police said. Police found a pill that was later identified as a controlled substance and an amount of marijuana in the vehicle, police said. Martin was arrested and processed at police headquarters and later released on bail.
