Police: Menacing With Knife in Greenport, DWI in Mattituck

Southold Town Police report charges of weapon possession and menacing in Greenport and a drunk driving charge in Mattituck.

The following information was supplied by the Southold Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

• Michael Webster, 23, of Greenport, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, harassment, and menacing on May 20 at 8:11 p.m., after officers responded to a report that a man armed with a knife was attempting to enter a residence at 219 Main Street in the village, police said. Responding officers were able to take Webster into custody after a brief struggle, police said. Webster's girlfriend, Amanda Stetler, 20, of Greenport, also fought with responding officers and was taken into custody as well, police said.

• Jairo Valdivia, 25, of Greenport, was charged with driving while intoxicated on May 20 at 10:14 p.m., after police observed him driving a 2000 Mitsubishi westbound on Route 48 failing to stay within a traffic lane and failing to signal lane changes, police said. Valdivia was found to be in an intoxicated condition and was arrested, police said.
