Police: Menacing and Criminal Possession of a Weapon

Southold man is charged with criminal possession of a weapon after an argument with an ex-girlfriend.

Paul Reinekens, 24, of Southold was charged with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon on Saturday after police responded to a disturbance call at 540 First Street in Greenport, police said. Upon investigation, police found that Reinekens had gone to the residence to confront an ex-girlfriend and threatened one of the female residents of the house with a shotgun and told that person that he was going to kill them, police said. Reinekens then fled the scene and was later apprehended by Southold Police K-9 unit and was arrested, police said.
