Patchogue Man Airlifted After Route 48 Car Crash in Mattituck

Patchogue man and Coram woman both treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A Patchogue man was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center Tuesday night after a car accident near the Strawberry Fields on Route 48.

According to Southold Police, Lyndell Taylor, 56, was driving his car southbound on Love Lane around 6:20 p.m. when he failed to yield to a car driving westbound on Route 48, causing a collision. He was airlifted by a Suffolk County Police helicopter.

Amanda Grell, 22, of Coram, was driving on Route 48 and following the collision was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center by Mattituck Fire Department.
