Police: Mattituck Man Drives Drunk, Hits House, Then Flees Scene
Southold Town Police charge a Mattituck man with DWI after he hit a house on Cox Neck Road and fled the scene.

Stephen J. Tuthill Jr., 23, of Mattituck, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident in Mattituck on April 28 at 10:21 p.m. Police said Tuthill was operating a 2009 Honda west on Westphalia Road, when he failed to stop at an intersection, crossed over Cox Neck Road and struck a guy wire, a tree, and a house. Tuthill then left the scene and was located at his residence shortly thereafter, police said. He was found to be intoxicated, arrested, transported to police headquarters in Peconic and held for arraignment.
