Police: Manhasset Man Boats Drunk With Children Aboard

Southold Town Bay Constables charge Manhasset man with boating while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child over the weekend.

Charles D. Miller, 47, of Manhasset, was charged with boating while intoxicated, endangering the welfare of a child and reckless operation of a vehicle on Aug. 5 at 2:52 p.m., after stopped him for operating a 22-foot boat that was overloaded 16 minors aboard in the Greenport breakwater area, police said. He was found to be operating the vessel in an intoxicated condition, police said. Miller was placed under arrest, transported to Southold Town Police headquarters and held pending arraignment in Southold Town Justice Court.
