Police Log: Southold Motorcycle Accident; DWI in Mattituck

The following information was supplied by the Southold Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

• Patricia Scheiner, 51, of Yaphank, was charged with driving while intoxicated on June 17 at 8:12 p.m. Scheiner was driving north on Bergen Avenue in Mattituck where she failed to navigate a turn in the road and drove off the road and struck a tree, said. Upon arriving at the scene, Scheiner was found to be intoxicated. She was arrested and transported to where she was treated and released. She was then taken to police headquarters where she was processed and held for arraignment.

• Gordon Tyrer, 59, of Southold, was injured in a motorcycle accident on June 16 at 4:16 p.m. at the intersection of Route 25 and South Harbor Road in Southold. Tyrer was heading east on Route 25 on a motorcycle when Santina Jamieson, 72, of Bronxville failed to yield the right of way at South Harbor Road and Route 25 pulling out in front of Tyrer and striking the motorcycle, police said. Tyrer was ejected from the motorcycle. Members of the responded to the scene and transported Jamieson to Eastern Long Island Hospital. Tyrer was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital in stable condition.
