Police Log: Heroin Possession in Southold; DWI in Mattituck

Southold Town Police charge two with drug possession and another with driving while intoxicated this weekend.

he following information was supplied by the Southold Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Christine M. Walton, 23, of Center Moriches, and Kristopher Eide, 23, of Mastic Beach, were each charged with drug-related offenses on June 2 at 3:25 a.m. after Eide was stopped for a traffic infraction on Route 25 in Southold, police said. Eide dropped his license, and when he got out of the car to retrieve it, a packet of heroin fell out of his pocket, police said. He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Walton, a passenger in the vehicle, was found to be in possession of marijuana and was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, police said. Both subjects were arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. Walton was released on an appearance ticket and Eide was held for arraignment.

William Peralta, 33, of Mattituck, was charged with driving while intoxicated on June 30 at 3:48 a.m. after police stopped him for failing to maintain a lane of traffic on Peconic Bay Boulevard in Mattituck, police said. Peralta also did not have a driver’s license, police said. He was found to be intoxicated, was arrested, transported to headquarters for processing and lodged overnight for court.
