Police: Indianapolis Man Charged With Aggravated DWI

Southold Town Police arrest Robert Howard Thursday afternoon.

The following information was supplied by Southold Town Police department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

Robert Howard, Jr., 45, of Indianapolis, was charged with driving while intoxicated on Jan. 31 at 2 p.m., after police stopped him for speeding on Route 48 near Hortons Lane in Southold, police said. Howard was operating a 1999 Honda 2-door sedan eastbound on the roadway when he was stopped for speeding. Subsequent investigation found Howard to be intoxicated. He was arrested and transported to Southold Town Police headquarters for processing where he was held overnight awaiting arraignment at Southold Town Justice Court.
