Police: Greenport Woman Drowns in Southold Swimming Pool

Southold Town Police report an apparent drowning in Southold.

Heather Domino, 23, of Greenport, died in an apparent drowning in a Southold swimming pool on the afternoon of July 31,reported.

Domino was found unconscious in a swimming pool at 5:49 p.m. at 3950 Old North Road in Southold, police said. Members of the and Southold Town Police Department responded, recovered her body from the pool and attempted to resuscitate her. She was transported by ambulance to Eastern Long Island Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said. The incident is under investigation by the Southold Town Police Detective Division.

Domino was the daughter of Michael Domino, a Southold Town Trustee and local environmental activist.

This is the incident reported this month on the North Fork. Walter Jose Gomez, 18, of Cutchogue, was pronounced dead at on July 11 after he was found floating in a swimming pool at 3:38 p.m. in an apparent drowning at a Cutchogue residence where he had been working in landscaping with his father.
