Police: Greenport Man Charged With DWI After Damaging Car

Southold Town Police charge a Greenport man with driving while intoxicated after his involvement in a motor vehicle accident.

Leslie Howard, 38, of Greenport, was charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, failing to maintain his lane, and refusing a breath test on July 19 at 3:30 p.m. after he was involved in a motor vehicle accident and left the scene in Southold, police said. Howard was driving east on Route 25 in Greenport and swerved onto the shoulder of the roadway, police said. He was stopped, found to be intoxicated, was arrested and transported to police headquarters in Peconic where he was processed and lodged pending arraingment.
