Police: Greenport Man Busted for Open Intox, Marijuana Possession

The following information was supplied by the Southold Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate guilt.

Christopher Byerley, 22, of Greenport, was charged with open intox and marijuana possession offences on Sept. 16 at 9:27 p.m., after police observed Byerley in possession of an open container of alcohol and a lit rolled marijuana cigarette at Third Street Park in Greenport, police said. Barley also was found to be in possession of additional marijuana. He was arrested, transported to police headquarters in Peconic and released on bail for a later date.
