Police: Friday DWI Charges in Mattituck and Cutchogue

Southold Town Police report three driving while intoxicated charges on Friday.

The following information was supplied by the Southold Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

• Thomas McCarthy, 48, of Southold, was charged with driving while intoxicated on June 22 at 7:05 p.m. after police observed him crossing over the white stop line at the intersection of County Route 48 an Cox Lane in Cutchogue while the light was red, police said. McCarthy also crossed over the solid yellow line on the left shoulder of the roadway, police said. The defendant failed roadside side sobriety tests administered at the scene and was arrested, transported to police headquarters and held pending arraignment in Southold Town Justice Court.

• Kelly Davis, 51, of Cutchogue, was charged with DWI on June 22 at 12:01 a.m. after she was involved in a car crash at the intersection of Pine Tree Road and Skunk Lane in Cutchogue, police said. She was found to be intoxicated, was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was processed and held for arraignment.

• Bernabe Lopez, 25, of Mattiuck, was charged with DWI, no driver’s license and failing to maintain a lane of traffic on June 22 at 9:01 p.m., after police responded to a call of a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner on Wickham Avenue in Mattituck, police said. The responding officer located the vehicle that was operated by Lopez, police said. Lopez was stopped, found to be intoxicated, was arrested, transported to police headquarters, processed and held overnight pending arraignment.
