Police: Fourth Suspect Charged in September Abduction Case

Southold Town Police report that a fourth suspect involved in a Mattituck abduction and robbery case has been apprehended.

A fourth suspect allegedly involved in an abduction/robbery case from last fall has been apprehended and charged, Southold Town Police reported.

Anthony Infantolino, 18, of Wading River, was recently charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and third-degree assault in connection with an incident involving a Cutchogue man who was allegedly assaulted, imprisoned and robbed at the Mattituck early last September, police said.

Later that month, Conor Lingerfelt, 17, of Jamesport and Philip Trentacoste, 18, of Aquebogue were also both charged with third-degree assault, second-degree robbery and second-degree unlawful imprisonment, and 51-year-old Jameport resident Elizabeth Bucalo-Lingerfelt was charged with second-degree robbery and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.

This last charge came after a four-month-long investigation, police said. Last September, police received a tip of the alleged abduction that occurred in the parking lot of the gas station on Sept. 1, police said.

The victim had been abducted at about 1 p.m. after he had bought a pack of cigarettes at the gas station, police said. He was confronted by three men and a woman in her '50s, was forced into a white Dodge Neon and was driven first to a Laurel location and then to a house on Sound Avenue in Jamesport, police said. After a fourth suspect arrived, the man was assaulted at the Sound Avenue location and was stripped of his cigarettes and shoes, police said. He was then forced into the truck bed of a black truck and released at a location near Pier Avenue in Riverhead, police said.

All suspects have been arraigned in Southold Town Justice Court and are awaiting future court dates.
