Police Engaged in Rescue On Shelter Island

Southold Town police are coordinating with Shelter Island authorities.

Update, 1:12 p.m.: Shelter Island police said an elderly gentleman who suffered a stroke at his home was transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center from Shelter Island Saturday morning.

According to Shelter Island Police Sergeant Jim Cronin, a Suffolk County Medevac unit landed on Wades Beach, where the man was brought by ambulance for transport.
