Police: East Hampton Man Charged With DWAI, Marijuana Possession

Southold Town Police charge an East Hampton man with marijuana possession, driving while ability impaired by drugs early Saturday morning in Cutchogue.

Marco Amay, 19, of East Hampton, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle on Saturday at 1:48 a.m., after police stopped him for failing to maintain his lane on Route 25 in Cutchogue, police said. The officer smelled marijuana on Amay and found marijuana in the vehicle, police said. Amay was arrested and transported to police headquarters in Peconic where he was held pending arraignment.
