Police: DWI, Custodial Interference

Southold Town Police report one incident of driving while intoxicated and one of a parent picking up a child that was not her own from school.

Alberto Gomez, 31, of Peconic was charged with driving while intoxicated on Saturday at 11:53 p.m. after police observed him backing out of a parking spot in the Cutchogue 7-Eleven parking lot and hitting another vehicle, police said. Gomez was found to be intoxicated after failing several roadside sobriety tests.

Diana M. Cook, 38, of Mattituck was charged with second degree custodial interference on Friday following an incident earlier in the week when she picked up a child that was not her's from school, police said. Police are not identifying the child or the school.

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were charged with the above offenses. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
