Police: DWI Charge in Mattituck; Marijuana Possession in Cutchogue

Southold Town Police charge a Mattituck man with driving while intoxicated and an East Hampton man with marijuana possession in Cutchogue.

The following information was supplied by the Southold Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

• Andre Brevard, 20, of East Hampton, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Feb. 11 at 9:57 a.m., after police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Route 25 in Cutchogue, police said. After arriving at the scene, police found Brevard in the backseat and in possession of marijuana, police said. He was arrested, transported to headquarters, processed and released for a later court date, police said.

• Cornelius Whalen, 66, of Mattituck, was charged with driving while intoxicated on Feb. 14 at 12:46 a.m., after police stopped him for a traffic violation on Wickham Avenue in Mattituck, police said. He was found to be intoxicated, arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and held pending arraignment.
