Police: Drug Possession and DWI Charges Reported

A Cutchogue man is charged with marijuana possession and a Mattituck woman is charged with DWI this week.

The following information was supplied by various town police departments. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

• Maxwell Gillies, 21, of Cutchogue, was arrested by Southampton Town Police on Sept. 26 at 9:08 p.m. in Flanders after his vehicle was stopped on CR 104. Police say they discovered a small quantity of marijuana that was in plain view on the dashboard of the car. Additionally, said the officers, they located 25 grams of pot stored in a plastic bag under the driver’s seat. Gillies was charged with fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.

• Susan Cannon, 67, of Mattituck, was charged by Southold Town Police with driving while intoxicated on Oct. 1 at 2:21 p.m. after she was involved in a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident where she hit a pedestrian on Love Lane, police said. Cannon was found a short time later and was determined to be intoxicated. The pedestrian was not injured, police said.
