Police: Drug Busts Executed Across the North Fork

Southold Town Police release report of drug-related arrests made over the past two weeks.

The following information was supplied by the Southold Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Suspected drug dealers living across the North Fork were arrested and charged with drug-related offenses over the past two weeks by members of the East End Drug Task Force, Southold Town Police reported this week.

The following North Fork residents were charged with the following offenses, according to police:

  • Jeffrey Jackson, 48, of Greenport was charged on June 3 with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, fourth-degree criminal possession of a narcotic drug, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of marijuana. A large amount of cash was also seized from his residence and. Jackson was arraigned in Southold Town Justice Court and was held on $52,000 cash bail.
  • Michael Ragone, 21, of Mattituck was charged on Tuesday with third-degree criminal sale of marijuana. Ragone was arraigned in Southold Town Justice Court and was held on $1,000 cash bail.
  • Leon Creighton, 39, of Greenport was charged on Wednesday with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance with intent to sell, fifth-degree criminal possession of a narcotic drug, and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Creighton was arraigned in Southold Town Justice Court and held on $101,000 cash bail.
  • Peter Griffin, 39, of Greenport was charged on Wednesday with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance with intent to sell and fifth-degree criminal possession of a narcotic drug. Griffin was arraigned in Southold Town Justice Court and held on $50,000 cash bail.
  • Roger Gaud, 40, formerly of Greenport was arrested on Wednesday in Shirley and charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. Police said they found Gaud to be in possession of 650 packets of heroin, and he is alleged to have been transporting them to Greenport for distribution.
  • Lashawn Lawrence, 27, of Greenport was charged on Wednesday with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Lawrence was held without bail due to multiple prior felony convictions, police said.
  • Lavain Creighton, 41, and Erica Hansen, 34, were both charged on Friday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, two counts of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, and one count of endangering the welfare of a child for permitting children under the age of 17 to remain in a residence where drug activity was occurring. Police said that cocaine, marijuana and a large sum of cash were seized from the suspects. Creighton and Hansen were arraigned in Southold Town Justice Court. Bail for Creighton was set at $6,000 and bail for Hansen was set at $1,000.

Members of the Southold Town Police Department, the Suffolk County Police Emergency Department Service Unit and the Suffolk County Sheriff's Canine Unit assisted in the investigations.
