Police: Cutchogue Woman Airlifted to Hospital After Car Accident
Southold Town Police report a car accident resulting in injuries Friday morning in Southold.
Ionie Wright, 54, of Southold, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center after sustaining injuries in a car crash on Friday at 7:24 a.m.on Route 25 west of Arshamomaque Road in Southold, reported on Friday.
Wright was operating a 2003 Jeep west on Route 25 when she apparently lost consciousness and her vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree, police said. Members of the responded to the scene and Wright was airlifted to the hospital by Suffolk County Police Aviation helicopter for treatment to injuries, police said.
