Police: Cocaine-Related Arrests Made After Greenport Home Searched

Two Greenport residents were arrested and charged with several cocaine-related offenses during the early morning hours of Friday by members of the Suffolk County District Attorney's East End Drug Task Force, Southold Town Police reported.
During a search of a Sandy Beach Road residence, police said they found substantial amounts of crack and cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a large amount of cash. The arrests are the latest in a recent campaign by members of the task force, who arrested , and on drug-related charges.

- David Carey, 42 was charged with two felony counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of criminally using drug paraphernalia and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon. Carey, a convicted felon who is currently on parole, was arraigned in and ordered to be held without bail.
- Michael Capuano, 63, was charged with two felony counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of criminally using drug paraphernalia. Capuano was arraigned in Southold Town Justice Court and ordered to be held on $20,000 cash bail.
Members of the Southold Town Police Department, the Suffolk County Police Emergency Department Service Unit and the Suffolk County Sheriff's Canine Unit assisted in the investigations.
