Police: Cocaine Possession, DWI Charges Reported

Southold Town Police report incidents of driving while intoxicated and drug possession over the weekend.

The following information was supplied by the Southold Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

• William J. Kennedy, 52, of Cutchogue, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Oct. 7 at 3:58 a.m., after he was stopped for a traffic offence on Route 25 in Cutchogue and was found to be in possession of cocaine, police said. Kennedy was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing.

• Rosemarie Stepnoski, 35, of Southold, was charged with second-degree criminal trespass on Oct. 5 at 3:08 a.m., after a Greenport woman called police to report that an unknown female had entered her residence on Fifth Street during the night through an unlocked rear door and was sleeping on her couch, police said. Officers responded and located Stepnoski inside the residence who was intoxicated and thought she was at a friend's house, police said. Stepnoski was arrested, transported to headquarters, processed and released on an appearance ticket for a later court date.

• Anne M. Watson-Obrien, 49, of Milton, was charged with driving while intoxicated on Oct. 5 at 8:34 p.m., after she was stopped for a traffic violation on Route 25 in Cutchogue, police said.  She was processed and held overnight for arraignment.

• Jose Roberto Diaz Flores, 33, of Greenport, was driving while intoxicated on Oct. 6 at 9:58 p.m., after police observed him operating a black 2003 Saturn Vue eastbound on Route 25 in Greenport and failing to maintain his lane position by crossing over a solid white line and drove on the shoulder of the roadway, police said. Diaz Flores failed several field sobriety tests administered by the undersigned and was found to be intoxicated. Diaz Flores was arrested, transported to headquarters, processed, and held overnight to await arraignment at Southold Town Justice Court.
