The streets of Jamesport were covered with runners and walkers of all ages Sunday morning for the Jamesport Fire Department 5K and 10K Run, which was organized in memory of Commissioner Edward "Big Ed" Collins, who died last year.
To appeal to those who weren't up to running 6.2 miles from Iron Pier Beach on the Long Island Sound to Town Beach on Peconic Bay, race organizers added a 5K to the 10K for the first time this year, which pushed the 9 a.m. start to almost 10 a.m. for both races.
