Motorcyclist Thrown From Bike After Hitting Deer

Southold Town Police report motorcycle accident at Route 48 and Kenneys Road.

John Kujawski, 49, of Southold, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center after hitting a deer with a motorcycle on July 10 at 11:27 p.m. at the intersection of Route and Kenneys road in Southold, reported. Kujawski was operating a Suzuki motorcycle east on Route 48 in the area of Kenneys Road when a deer ran into his motorcycle. He was thrown from the motorcycle and injured his left shoulder. Southold Rescue responded and treated Kujawski at the scene, then transferred him to a Suffolk County Police Department helicopter which transported him to Stony Brook Hospital.
