Man Punched in Limo at Vineyard 48

Christopher Schaeffner, 23, is charged with harassment following incident in Cutchogue Saturday, according to the Suffolk Times.

A North Babylon man is facing a harassment charge after he allegedly punched two people in face while in a limousine outside of Vineyard 48, according to a Suffolk Times report

Christopher Schaeffner, 23, was with several other people Saturday afternoon when, according to Southold Town police, Schaeffner stepped on a woman's foot and then became angry when the woman asked him to apologize, the Times reported.

Schaeffner, charged with second-degree harassment, is alleged to have then hit the woman in the jaw with a hard cast on his arm and pushed her onto the floor. When another man in the limo tried to intervene in the fight, Schaeffner punched him in the face as well, the Times reported.

The Route 48 vineyard has made headlines in the past, as some locals have pointed to parties at the vineyard, some promoting its crowd as "" as too rowdy for the North Fork. The managers, however, have told Patch that the winery – just like any other operation – is a business, and businesses need to make money.
