Police: Hampton Bays Man Arrested for Driving Stolen Vehicle While Intoxicated

A Hampton Bays man was arrested for driving a stolen vehicle while intoxicated on Route 25 in Southhold Saturday night, Southold Town police said.

Southold Police said they received a call from a motorist about a vehicle operating erratically eastbound on Route 25. When officers located the vehicle, the driver, Jason Capazzola, 38, attempted to flee by turning onto Jasmine Lane, police said.

Police were able to catch Capazzola when he made a turn down Blossom Lane, which is a dead end.

Capazzola was arrested and charged with DWI. It was later discovered that the vehicle that Capazzola was driving had been stolen from Jamesport, police said.

Capazzola was then additionally charged with felony possession of stolen property.
