Fire District Elections Take Place Tuesday Around North Fork

Here's your guide to who's running in today's fire district elections on the North Fork.
There's a heated race in Mattituck, where three candidates are vying for one open seat and a five-year term. Incumbent William Young has decided not to run again; Leonard Llewelyn, Michael Sweeney and John Heeg are facing off for the one open seat. Voting takes place at 1000 Pike Street from 3 to 9 p.m.
In Cutchogue, Andrew McCaffrey is challenging incumbent Arthur Brewer for a five-year seat. Polling takes place at 260 New Suffolk Road from 6 to 9 p.m.
Three districts have candidates running unopposed:
In Orient, Joseph Wysocki is running unopposed. Vote at 233 Main Road from 6 to 9 p.m.

In East Marion, Donald Dzenkowski is running for his five year seat and Michael Griffin is also running unchallenged to complete his current term. The election will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at 9245 Main Road.
And in Southold, current chair Donald Sayre is running unopposed for a five-year seat. Voting takes place at the firehouse, located at 55135 Main Road, from 6 to 9 p.m.
