A driver was injured in an accident in Greenport Monday afternoon, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, a one-car accident occurred on Monday at 3:36 p.m. on Monday on Westwood Lane in Greenport.
Police said the driver, Sindi Gaticia-Melgar, 23, was operating a 2004 Mazda 6 southbound on Westwood Lane when her vehicle went off the roadway and struck a mailbox and then a tree.

Gaticia-Melgar was treated at the scene by the Greenport Fire Department and was then transported to Stony Brook Hospital by Suffolk County Aviation, police said.
