Crimes Nearby: Robbery in Riverhead, Road Rage in the Hamptons

The following information was supplied by various town police departments. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

Miller Place-Rocky Point

Shera Dougherty, 25, of Bayport, was arrested Sept. 1 in Shoreham and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Dougherty was allegedly found with a hypodermic needle containing heroin on Cobblestone Drive in Shoreham.

David Paulraj, 50, of Holbrook, was arrested Aug. 30 in Rocky Point and charged with first-offense DWI and third-degree grand larceny. He was arrested at 1:05 a.m. on Route 25A in Rocky Point while driving a 1995 Chevy pick-up that had been reported stolen. He failed to maintain his lane of traffic, was given a sobriety test and it was determined that he had been driving while intoxicated, police said.


RIVERHEAD

James Licausi, 43, of Riverside, was charged with third degree robbery, a D felony, in Riverside at 5:18 p.m. on Sept. 2 on County Road 104. Police reported that Licausi had struck a man in the face the day before at 5:50 a.m. on Vail Avenue in Riverside, bit his left arm and then forcibly removed the victim's wallet and fled the area on a bicycle.

A woman allegedly swiped a Kmart shopper's purse, which included cash and a debit card -- and then used the card around town. According to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and detectives from the Riverhead police department, authorities are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the individual who allegedly stole a purse belonging to a woman who was shopping at K-Mart on Route 58 in Riverhead on March 12, at approximately 2:35 p.m. Later that day, an unknown woman allegedly used the debit card illegally to purchase merchandise in several stores in Riverhead and Hampton Bays, police said. The shopper later discovered that her pocketbook was missing. The purse was subsequently found and returned to the owner, with the debit card and $164 in cash missing.

Riverhead Town police and Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person who tried to pry open the night deposit box at a local bank in Riverhead on Saturday.According to authorities, an unknown suspect entered the rear parking lot of the Suffolk County National Bank, located at 1201 Ostrander Avenue in Riverhead on Saturday at approximately 11:15 p.m. The subject allegedly approached the night time deposit box and, using a crow bar, tried to pry it open. The box, which was valued at approximately $8,000, was damaged during the incident.


WESTHAMPTON-HAMPTON BAYS

Three men were arrested in Hampton Bays on Sept. 2 on felony and misdemeanor drug possession charges. Police say Blake Abbondandolo 26, and Brian Diaz, 27, both of Huntington, and Lawrence Royzen, 27, of Brooklyn, were found to be in possession of a quantity of ecstasy pills after the vehicle they were traveling in was pulled over on Dune Road at 6:22 p.m.

officers say they observed Abbondandolo, Diaz and Royzen "acting in a suspicious manner" and during an investigation, cops said they noticed the passengers attempting to hide an item in the car's gas cap, which turned out, police aid, to be a quantity of the drug ecstasy.
All three men were charged with one count each of criminal possession of a controlled substance fifth degree, a D felony and criminal possession of a controlled substance seventh degree, a misdemeanor.

SOUTHAMPTON

Lisa Maria Falcone — a 48-year-old film producer and wife of hedge fund manager Phil Falcone — was under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs when she crashed in Bridgehampton on Saturday afternoon, according to police. said they were called to the scene of the accident at 2:25 p.m. near the intersection of Montauk Highway and Hayground Road, where Falcone, driving a 2004 Mercedes four-door, struck another vehicle. No injuries were reported. Falcone now faces misdemeanor charges of driving while ability impaired by the combined influence of alcohol and drugs. She was arraigned in over the weekend and released on her own recognizance.

arrested Laurence Levy, 57, of Mastic, in Southampton on Aug. 29 at 1:44 p.m. after Levy was involved in what cops called a “road rage” incident that occurred on County Road 39 near Shrubland Road. Police said Levy was driving his 2003 Chevrolet eastbound when he began chasing a 2011 Porsche “in a reckless manner.” He then deliberately rear-ended the Porsche, according to police. No injuries related to the chase and subsequent crash were reported. Levy was charged with reckless endangerment in the second degree, a misdemeanor, as well as speeding and failure to signal, both traffic infractions, and harassment in the second degree, a violation.
