Crimes Nearby: Former Hoops Star Back in Cuffs
Also: West Hampton Dunes constables arrest three people on drug charges.
The following information was supplied by the East End police departments. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.
• Former East Hampton High School star basketball player Michael E. Russell, who has been in and out of trouble over the past six years, has found himself back behind bars.
East Hampton Village police arrested Russell, 23, who is out on bail on charges related to an armed home invasion in Massachusetts back in January, after they discovered he used two credit cards that weren't his to purchase three pairs of sneakers and one pair of shoes at Sneakerology on Main Street in East Hampton Village on Sept. 2.
Employees at the store identified Russell as the person who made the purchases, at two separate times on the same day, police said. One of the cards used belonged to Stony Hill Stables in Amagansett and had been assigned to an employee, an acquaintance of Russell's, Chief Jerry Larsen said. The second card was the employee's debit card.
• Frederick B. Chacon, 28, was charged with felony DWI in Amagansett on Oct. 8 due to a previous conviction. Police said he traveling 45 mph in a 30 mph zone on Montauk Highway. He was pulled over near Atlantic Avenue, and appeared to be drunk at about 1:45 a.m. He reportedly failed all field sobriety tests. Police said his privileges to drive were revoked and suspended eight times, going back to 2007. He was convicted of DWI on Sept. 21, 2011 in the Town of Southampton, according to police. They also found a warrant from the New York City Police Department dated 2002. In addition to the drunken driving charge, Chacon was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony. He was released on $10,000 bail.
WESTHAMPTON
Police on Monday arrested three people for cocaine possession on Widgeon Way in West Hampton Dunes.
West Hampton Dunes Police Constables said they found cocaine in a car driven by Maria S. Cepparo, 41, who resides in both Brentwood and Port Jefferson Station, and arrested her and two of her passengers.

The arrest comes a few months after Cepparo, a mother of four, was charged in May with leaving her children in a hot, unlocked car while she drank in a Holbrook bar.
Cepparo is due in court Thursday to face those charges.

• Several items, including expensive jewelry, were stolen from a house on Noyac Path in Sag Harbor on Oct. 10 between 7:15 a.m. and 7 p.m. A woman said she left her door unlocked so that her friend could drop off a table. A $100 bill, which she had left for the friend, was stolen, along with her $5,000 engagement ring, two $800 wedding bands, and another $5,000 ring.
• More than $5,000 worth of jewelry was reported missing on Oct. 10, five days after it was last seen during a move at a North Bishop Lane house in Southampton. The owner said she looked for it for four days, but could not find it.
