Crimes Nearby: East Hampton Woman Kicks Officer in the Face During Arrest

The following information was supplied by East End police departments. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

EAST HAMPTON:

An East Hampton woman was recently after police said she kicked an officer in the face while resisting arrest.

East Hampton Town Police were originally called in response to reports of a domestic incident on Nov. 6 between Ashly O'Shea, 31, and her husband. Upon arrival, police said she appeared highly intoxicated and when asked to put out her cigarette, O'Shea instead blew smoke into an officer's face and proceeded to make her way inside her home.

According to reports, police warned O'Shea that if she did not remove her hands from her pockets - since police were responding to reports of an incident involving a knife - she would be handcuffed while police searched for the knife and she still refused. Police reportedly attempted to cuff O'Shea, at which point she kicked an officer in the leg and was subsequently arrested for harassment of a police officer, police said. While being put into the squad car, police said she kicked an officer in the face, injuring his nose and orbital bone. O'Shea was arrested on charges of assault in the second degree - a felony - criminal mischief, two counts of harassment in the second degree, and resisting arrest.

RIVERHEAD:

Juan Matias, 29, of Riverhead was arrested Nov. 17 at 10:59 a.m. at the corner of County Road 39 and Tuckahoe Road in Southampton and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. After receiving a call about an erratic driver running other cars off the road, police identified Matias and pulled him over, according to police reports. Police said he appeared intoxicated.

Nicolas Santamaria, 46, of Riverhead was arrested Nov. 19 at 7:22 p.m. on Montauk Highway in East Quogue and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police received a call about an erratic driver on Montauk Highway, pulled Santamaria over and then saw that he was intoxicated, according to police reports.

Jason Rogers, 22, of Westhampton Beach was arrested Nov. 20 at 1:42 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 104 and County Road 105 in Flanders and charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, and DWI, a misdemeanor. Rogers was stopped for speeding when police saw that he was intoxicated and had a suspended license, officers said.

Jaime Aparicio, 26, of Flanders was arrested Nov. 19 at 12:43 a.m. at Cabana Latina in Flanders and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony. Police were called to an incident at Cabana Latina about a man who had punched in two windows at the restaurant, according to police reports.  
Thomas Johnston, 24, of Riverhead was arrested and charged with second-degree harassment after an incident at the Oakland Ridge mobile home park in Riverhead on Nov. 14 at about 2 a.m. Police did not release any additional details about the incident.

WESTHAMPTON-HAMPTON BAYS:

Nicolas Santamaria, 46, of Riverhead, was arrested Saturday at 7:22 p.m. on Montauk Highway in East Quogue and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police received a call about an erratic driver on Montauk Highway, pulled Santamaria over and then saw that he was intoxicated.

Jason Rogers, 22, of Westhampton Beach, was arrested Sunday at 1:42 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 104 and County Road 105 in Flanders and charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, and DWI, a misdemeanor. Rogers was stopped for speeding when police saw that he was intoxicated and had a suspended license.

Brian Hambrick, 41, of Riverhead, was arrested Nov. 15 at 12:06 a.m. on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays and charged with possession of burglar’s tools and petty larceny, both misdemeanors. Officers responded to a call about a larceny and Hambrick admitted that he tried to take gasoline from someone’s truck using a clear plastic hose and five-gallon can.

Southampton:

Armond Gordon, 40, of Southampton, was arrested Friday at 11:13 p.m. on Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton and charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. According to police, Gordon stole his former boss's iPhone in August from a table at the where he worked.

Juan Matias, 29, of Riverhead, was arrested Thursday at 10:59 a.m. at the corner of County Road 39 and Tuckahoe Road in Southampton and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police received a call about an erratic driver running other motorists off the road, identified him as Matias and pulled him over. Police then discovered he appeared intoxicated.


Driving While Ability Impaired:
Philip Monfoletto, 22, of Deer Park, was arrested Sunday at 1:59 a.m. at the corner of County Road 39 and Magee Street and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor. Monfoletto was stopped for not using his blinker when an officer discovered he smelled of marijuana, police said. Monfoletto admitted that he had smoked marijuana several hours ago, according to police reports.


Criminal Contempt:
Lester Pettaway, 19, of Southampton, was arrested Monday at 2:30 a.m. on Apple Road in Southampton and charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor. Pettaway violated a stay away order of protection in a domestic incident, according to police.

MILLER PLACE-ROCKY POINT:

Marc Feingold, 49, from Miller Place, was arrested on Nov. 13 at Higbie Lane in West Islip and charged with second degree obstruction of governmental administration. He reportedly interfered with a police investigation while another party was being handcuffed.

Nicholas Provenzano, 24, from Rocky Point, was arrested on Nov. 12 at 7:35 a.m. at in Rocky Point and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was allegedly spotted in a 2008 Volkswagen with Xanax.

Charles Killain, from Rocky Point, was arrested on Nov. 17 at about 7 p.m. at 346 Route 25A in Rocky Point and charged with disorderly conduct. He was allegedly screaming and cursing at people and resisted arrest.
