Crime Report: Larceny at 7-Eleven, DWIs

Southold Town Police report two incidents of DWI and one of larceny at a local 7-Eleven.

Robert Rauseo, 52, of Mattituck was charged with driving while intoxicated on Monday at 8:52 a.m. after police stopped him for a traffic violation while he drove on Cox Neck Lane in Mattituck, police reported. Rauseo's vehicle was seized due to a prior DWI conviction.

Roger Fay, 39, of Southold was charged with driving while intoxicated on Tuesday at 9:41 p.m., after police stopped him for a traffic violation while he drove on Route 25 in Mattituck.

A 21-year-old manager of the reported to police on Saturday that a 19-year-old employee of the store printed himself out 27 Western Union money orders in the amount of $500 each, $14,000 total, police said. The manager also reported that the employee removed $2,800 in cash from the register. Upon investigation, the employee, who had worked at the 7-Eleven for six months, had apparently fled his Greenport apartment after his shift, police said. In-store video showed the employee printing the money orders and putting them in his pocket, police said. The incident remains uner investigation.

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were charged with the above offenses. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
