Crime Report: Crack Possession, DWIs and Assault

Southold Town Police report incidents of driving while intoxicated and another of assault and crack-cocaine possession over the holidays.

Paul Parks, 22, of Coram was charged with third degree assault and possession of crack-cocaine on Sunday at 1:45 a.m., after police received a call of a possible assault victim in the emergency room of. Investigation revealed that Parks assaulted a 30-year-old Greenport resident after a party by hitting him in the face several times, police said. Police said that the victim suffered fractures to his cheekbone and injuries to his mouth. Police reported that Parks was also in possession of crack-cocaine at the time of processing at

Robert Johnson, 60, of Cutchogue was charged with driving while intoxicated on Dec. 24 at 10:33 p.m., after police received a complaint about a vehicle in the woods at the intersection of Route 25 and Eugenes Road in Cutchogue. Officers at the scene discovered that Johnson had been driving a 1998 Toyota south on Cox Lane in Cutchogue and failed to negotiate a turn at the intersection, lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree, police said. Johnson was found to be intoxicated, was treated at the scene by members of the and was transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital before processing at police headquarters.

Maximilian Ramos, 41, of Greenport was charged with DWI on Dec. 24 at 10:46 a.m. after being involved in a motor vehicle accident on Route 25 in Greenport, police said. Ramos was driving a vehicle east in the westbound lane of the highway and forced a police officer off the roadway. When the officer turned around to pursue Ramos, he saw Ramos run into two more vehicles off the roadway at hit a vehicle driven by Kevin Urban, 30, of Kissimmee, Fla. head-on. Urban was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center for treatment. Members of the transported Ramos to Eastern Long Island Hospital where his blood was drawn and he was found to be intoxicated, police said.

Gibson Campbell, 50, of Cutchogue was charged with DWI and other traffic violations on Dec. 23 at 10:26 p.m., after police received a report of a black Volvo swerving eastbound on Route 25 in Mattituck. The responding officer witnessed Campbell failing to maintain his lane and found him to be intoxicated, police said.

Jane Pitts-Broderick, 57, of Cutchogue was charged with DWI on Dec. 22 at 11:21 p.m. after police pulled her over for a traffic violation at the intersection of Route 48 and Depot Lane in Cutchogue, police reported.

Corey Lieblein, 30, of Southold was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct on Dec. 26 at 8 p.m. after police responded to a call of a disturbance at The officer at the scene found Lieblein to be highly intoxicated and shoeless, police said. A 7-Eleven employee informed the officer that Lieblein was using abusive language in the store and would not leave. Lieblein then proceeded to curse at the officer and patrons of the store and after the officer requested that Lieblein leave he refused to do so, police said. While the officer attempted to arrest Lieblein for disorderly conduct, Lieblein struggled and injured two police officers during the incident, police said.

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were charged with the above offenses. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
