Cops: Village Employee Got 'Death Threat' From Drunk Man
The employee also found her windshield cracked, police said.
An employee at Greenport Village Hall received a death threat on the same day she found her windshield cracked, police said.
According to Southold Town police, a village employee reported last Thursday that a Greenport resident, 50, with whom she has had problems in the past in her professional capacity, showed up at Village Hall at 3:45 p.m.
The man, according to Southold Town Police Chief Martin Flatley, "was loud and intoxicated and causing a disturbance, and was asked to leave. Apparently, he told the employee 'she was going to die' during the exchange."

In addition, the employee said at the end of the day, she went out to her car and noticed a crack in the windshield; although she suspected it may have been caused by the man, there was no way to prove it, police said.
